Newspaper Death Watch-continued

Posted on | May 8, 2008 | No Comments

Google that phrase and you end up at Paul Gillin’s relatively recent site of the same name. It’s got the good, the bad and the ugly news about the evolution of the American newspaper industry. And I’ve got to believe that Gillin really doesn’t sleep much. I had the pleasure of listening to one of his presentations last fall in Arizona. The guy’s a great speaker with fantastic insight and his New Influencers book is (dare I say it?) a must-read.
While there’s plenty of bad news in the print business, check out Gillin’s good-news post. Not all is lost.

Thanks for the nice words, Brian. It’s true that all isn’t gloom and doom in the newspaper industry, though there certainly is plenty of that to go around. NDW is a labor of love that takes about two hours of my sleep time every day, but it’s been gratifying to see the audience grow and feel that I’m providing some small insight on an industry I’ve always loved.
