What you’re reading

Blogging is an interesting gig…I do it because I love to write. That’s it. It helps that my day job requires me to keep up on new media, but I’d do this anyway.
So from time to time I try to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Here’s what you’re reading this year from the Pop Charts:
1. SI Swimsuit Porn. I should have saved my breath and just posted the SI cover. Average time spent on this post was 43 seconds.
2. Update: The Breakup of CMP. Most spent several minutes on this one, which gave some granularity to the organizational shakeup at my old employer. Serious posts can rock sometimes.
3. Update: CMP Media CEO watch. Lot of ex-CMPers interested in Mr. Weitzner.
4. Maureen Dowd Comes to the Tech Press. Comparing my old colleague Alex Wolfe to Maureen Dowd. Must have gotten some Dowd SEO love. (FYI, if you Google “Alex Wolfe Intel Floating Point” you’ll get more than 88,000 results; he broke that story).
5. Breakup of CMP Media. The original post with the announcement that the various CMP divisions were becoming independent companies.
It’s interesting that some of these get zero or very few posts. And the posts that get the most comments aren’t the most widely read. In any case, it’s fun to see what gets people going. Thanks for reading!
