Nice Pipes

Posted on | February 10, 2007 | No Comments

Lotso buzz this week about Yahoo Pipes, which is probably far more robust than people give it credit for. Indeed Tim O’Reilly says he’s been waiting for it for 10 years. It’s a feed aggregator, simply put, that allows you to graphically set your search parameters. It’s complicated as hell but enabling at the same time. What’s funny, to me, about it is the more we enable people online the more need there is for some type of order. It’s sorta like the old saying about technology in the home: invention of the dishwasher, the dryer, the washing machine and so on was supposed to free up more leisure time. Instead we just pile on more stuff to do.
